Our STAAR Series is provided for School Districts yearly between January - April. We have completed the 2021-2022 series, please look for registration for the 2022-2023 school year.

LITERARY TEXT (FICTION) AND WRITING INTEGRATION (REVISING)
STAAR Reading is changing to include writing in 2023. How do you plan to pivot your instruction? This interactive session will explore the subtle nuances of fictional text on the STAAR reading assessment. Come and practice research-based strategies for teaching increasingly complex literary texts. Genres will include realistic fiction, literary nonfiction, folktales, fables, legends, etc.) Explore strategies for integrating writing into reading fiction, best practices for teaching revising, and constructed response.

INFORMATIONAL TEXT AND WRITING INTEGRATION (EDITING) 
Across the state, students are increasingly challenged with comprehending informational text. This session will uncover strategies for demystifying informational and argumentative texts for all students, so they can be successful. Explore strategies for integrating writing into reading informational text, best practices for teaching editing, and constructed response.     

Reading and Writing Connections: New TEKS Integration (Virtual)
LITERARY TEXT (POETRY, DRAMA AND PAIRED SELECTION) AND WRITING INTEGRATION (EDITING)
Are your students struggling with poetry and drama? Join us for this action-packed session and leave with a deeper understanding of high-yield strategies for teaching access points for complex poetry and drama texts on STAAR. Explore strategies for integrating writing into reading poetry and drama, best practices for teaching editing, and constructed response.

TESTING AS A GENRE REVIEW PLAN
​With a few weeks left before STAAR Reading, how can you accelerate learning for your students and teach testing as a genre. Do you have a review plan? Come and practice strategies for building your students’ stamina, expanding their comprehension toolkit across genres, and preparing scholars for STAAR.

Cancellation Policy
4.1   Attendee/School/School District may request to cancel from an Event, by giving GTEC notice in writing in adequate advance of a confirmed or agreed Event. If GTEC receives the cancellation request less than seven (7) calendar days prior to the Event Date, Attendee/School/School District will pay fifty percent (50%) of the Service Price. If GTEC receives the cancellation request less than three (3) calendar days prior to the Event Date, Attendee/School/School District is subject to a cancellation charge equal to one hundred percent (100%) of the Service Price. 
 4.2 If the Attendee/School/School District fails to request cancellation and complete the Event Date for one or more Event(s) included in the Agreement, such Event(s) shall be deemed cancelled and Section 4.1 above shall apply.
 4.3 Failure by an Attendee to attend Event(s) as per the relevant confirmation shall not entitle Attendee/School/School District to any Service Price Reduction or any right to demand that the Event(s) be reperformed for the benefit of the absentee(s).
 4.4  GTEC reserves the right to cancel a Service and/or Event(s) or reschedule an Event(s) Date at any time and for any reasons. GTEC shall endeavor to inform Attendee/School/School District as soon as possible of the cancellation or rescheduling, and in case of rescheduling, to offer a new Event(s) Date reasonably convenient for Attendee/School/School District. In case of cancellation, GTEC will refund any amount of the Service Price paid in advance by Attendee/School/School District
. Such refund will be Attendee/School/School District’s sole remedy in case of cancellation by GTEC.
