Join us for an engaging professional development session dedicated to Supporting Struggling Readers and Writers for teachers in grades 3 to 8. This session focuses on evidence-based strategies to enhance comprehension, fluency, and written expression for students who are not yet meeting grade-level expectations, with a special emphasis on preparing for the STAAR assessments.


Objectives:

  • Enhance Reading Comprehension Skills: Teachers will learn and apply evidence-based strategies to help students better understand and retain complex texts, ensuring they are prepared for STAAR reading sections.

Malene Malene Golding, M.Ed, is a certified Master Reading Teacher and Reading Specialist who has been a professional educator for over twenty years, teaching, coaching, managing reading and writing teachers, administrators and specialists and taught preservice teachers as an adjunct professor.

Monique Johnson is a educator for 20 plus years and worked in several public-school districts and private schools. Monique has a passion for Middle school however has worked in Elementary, High School and Secondary (College). Served as a teacher, instructional coach, curriculum manager, professor, and education consultant.  Her motto is all students can learn regardless of their circumstances.
