Join us for an enlightening professional development session focused on "Differentiating Literacy Instruction for Varied Levels" designed for teachers of prekindergarten to 2nd grade. This session focuses on strategies to meet the diverse needs of young learners with varying reading abilities through differentiated literacy instruction, particularly in the areas of phonics and early comprehension.


Objectives:

  • Implement Tailored Phonics Instruction: Teachers will learn and apply techniques for differentiating phonics instruction to support emergent readers at different developmental stages, ensuring each student's unique needs are met.
  • Enhance Early Reading Comprehension: Educators will discover methods to foster early reading comprehension skills through tailored activities and approaches, helping young learners understand and engage with texts more effectively.
  • Utilize Assessment Data for Effective Grouping: Participants will explore how to use assessment data to create effective reading groups, personalize literacy instruction, and manage flexible groupings to meet the diverse learning needs of their students.

Malene Malene Golding, M.Ed, is a certified Master Reading Teacher and Reading Specialist who has been a professional educator for over twenty years, teaching, coaching, managing reading and writing teachers, administrators and specialists and taught preservice teachers as an adjunct professor.

Monique Johnson is a educator for 20 plus years and worked in several public-school districts and private schools. Monique has a passion for Middle school however has worked in Elementary, High School and Secondary (College). Served as a teacher, instructional coach, curriculum manager, professor, and education consultant.  Her motto is all students can learn regardless of their circumstances.
